#7YearsTooLong – North-east Victoria action

July 19 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Vigils will be held (subject to COVID restrictions) adjacent to churches with bells in  Alexandra, Mansfield, Euroa, Benalla, Wangaratta,  Yakandandah, Beechworth and Albury/Wodonga between 11am – 12 noon on Sunday July 19 to acknowledge the seven years in detention refugees and asylum seekers have endured, in PNG and Nauru.

Participants from RAR, Amnesty and faith communities will join these vigils.  They will meet in groups of 10, will stand 1.5 metres apart and wear masks.  They will have posters with ‘Seven
Years Too Long’, ‘Freedom for Refugees’, or ‘#Game Over’.

Bells will chime seven times every five minutes.

Albury-Wodonga:  St Matthews Church, Albury. 

Bells will ring at 12 noon.  Arrive at 11.30am.  Contact if you plan to attend (to regulate numbers).

Photos will be taken and posted on social media and RAR website.
