Australia-wide: Regatta of Hope 2018
31 January 2018 - 11 March 2018
The Australian Refugee Action Network (ARAN) is promoting The Regatta of Hope 2018 as something we can all join in across Australia
This is an event we can all get involved in. As well as the main walk, organisers are asking people in other areas to hold their own walk (even a short one around their town) sometime between today and March 11, and post their photos on social media with the hashtags #RegattaOfHope #RefugeeRegatta2018
Regatta of Hope – Jan 31 – March 11 – Across Australia
Walk to emphasise that most Australians do not support offshore detention as part of our asylum seeker policy. Hold a walk in your local area and take a photo of yourself or your group holding a sign with #RegattaOfHope and #RefugeeRegatta2018. Anyone in a group photo who is not holding a sign can cross their arms above their head symbolising peaceful protest against offshore detention. Then post your photos to social media using the hashtags, and upload them to the event page on Facebook.
