Bellingen – Youth for Refugees Concert
2 June 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm$20
EMERGING MUSOS TUNE UP FOR A WORTHY CAUSE
Local young talent from the Bellingen Shire Community are hosting a gig
YOUTH FOR REFUGEES
Local youth, whom many of you will know from their performances with the Bellingen Youth Orchestra, appearances with David Helfgott, solos at the recent James Morrison concert at Bellingen High School and multiple performances at the Camp Creative Celebrity Concerts [just to name a few!] are stepping up to raise money for recently settled families in our region.
With support from the Bellingen Youth Hub, the Bellingen Golf Club, Purple Carrot and Mums and Dads, this gig is hosted in the spirit of IT TAKES A VILLAGE. It’s what Bello does best!
The line-up will include emerging musicians Rosie Stephen, Finn Lawson-John, Xavier Stephen and Bill Hart, who featured prominently with solo jazz performances at the recent concert alongside James Morrison. The afternoon will feature performances of original compositions and creative arrangements with various ensembles, the clarion tones of Rosie and Finn duo, the sultry sounds of singer-songwriter Gemma McAulay, the superb Bellingen High School String Quartet and a joyful appearance by the local Gumbaynggirr Choir, Gungunbuwala. There will be special guest appearances throughout and the MC is our own young eco warrior Stella Rees.
We’ll be raffling a beautiful original print by local Artist and Uni student, Holly Mae, who recently exhibited, with an exquisite bird illustration, a voucher from Purple Carrot and more original art prizes. A lucky door prize will be drawn for early ticket holders.
Funds raised will support Education and Employment programs being run by Refugee Support Groups in our region, such as home reading program and pathways to employment by grass roots charities who help families directly, non Govt.
YOUTH FOR REFUGEES will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd June, 2.00 till 5.00pm at the Bellingen Golf Club. Tickets $20 with cabaret style table seating and afternoon tea provided. Primary age children free [must be accompanied by an adult].
We do anticipate a sell-out concert, so please don’t miss out, grab your tickets from The Youth Hub or The Golf Club.
