Join in and celebrate the arrival of the
Sail 4 Justice Freedom Flotilla into Cairns
@ Wharf1 on Friday July 5th ; 4pm-10pm
Aboriginal, West Papuan and refugee rights activists have combined to sail a flotilla of boats to Manus Island. They are seeking to highlight the need for, and offer, solidarity to refugees and others in our region who suffer repression.
We are travelling up the east coast of the continent known as “Australia”, with landings on Boonwurrung country (Narm/Birraranga, also known as “Melbourne”), Eora Country (Warang, also known as “Sydney”), Yuggera Country (Meanjin, also known as “Brisbane”), Juru Country (to visit the Adani protests at the coal port in so-called “Bowen”), and Yidinjdji Country (Gimuy, also known as “Cairns”) before crossing the ocean to Manus Island.
