Castlemaine – Refugee Week Events

15 June 2019 - 22 June 2019

Please see the Castlemaine Refugee Week program attached. It will be a very full week of great events to celebrate, raise awareness, share stories, and raise funds to assist organisations that support people seeking asylum who are living in the Australian community.

Please do come along and support these events. All details are in the attached program, and flyers for the Concert (Fri 21st) and Multicultural dinner (Sat 22nd), but here’s a summary:


Sat 15 June, 7.30am-1pm     

RAR stall at Wesley Hill Market


Sun 16 June, 6-8.30pm

Vocal Nosh dinner and singing with Fay White.

Uniting Church Hall ($16/$12)


Mon 17 June 10.30-11.30am           

Children’s Author Event at Castlemaine Library (for primary school groups)


Wed 19 June, 4.30-5.30pm

Vigil for Refugees at Market Building in Mostyn St


Fri 21 June, 4.30–5.30pm

Christine Cummins speaks at Castlemaine Library: true stories of courage and sacrifice from Christmas Island

Fri 21 June, 7.30pm 

Refugee Week concert and supper at Anglican Church.

Featuring Castlemaine Chamber Players, Allan Evans on harp, Sam Goble on cello and B’RockWerk. (Entry by donation)


Sat 22 June, 6pm

World of Stories Multicultural Dinner at Castlemaine Town Hall.

Vegetarian feast and shared stories.
