Combined Refugee Action Group General Meeting is on again
this Thursday 1st June
at 5.30 pm at Geelong Trades Hall,
127 Myers St Geelong, downstairs.
Come along and hear an update from Linda, Tim and Priscilla who attended the ARAN national Conference (Australian Refugee Action Network) in Canberra
= here they are on the lawns of Parliament, holding our politicians accountable for the laws they make (and break).
We will consider some actions to take in response to MP Dutton’s labelling of vulnerable people as “fake refugees” and the time pressures to apply for asylum, when previously people have been barred from even starting the process and now face long queues for legal support for complex applications.
Plenty else happening.
CRAG supports the Welcome Place Art Exhibition “Bird of My Soul” opening this Friday 2nd June 7 pm, for 3 days only;
Fri night 7pm- 10pm; Sat 3rd and Sun 4th = 10am – 5pm. Don’t miss it! A chance to buy some beautiful art and support people seeking asylum.
