Hosted by Diaspora Action Australia in partnership with the Melbourne Refugee Studies Program at the University of Melbourne.
An opportunity to connect Afghan diaspora organisations with the aid and humanitarian sector working in, or with an interest in, Afghanistan and the diaspora.
Raise issues of concern related to Afghanistan, connect with the agencies working in Afghanistan, and develop opportunities for collaboration on issues of importance.
Confirmed presentations from:
– Afghanistan Political Section, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
– Australian international aid agencies operating in Afghanistan, including World Vision, Save the Children and Oxfam Australia.
– Afghan diaspora organisations, based in Australia, delivering projects in Afghanistan, or advocating on issues related to the diaspora.
Opening by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs, the Hon. Robin Scott MP.
Forum includes presentations, panels with Q+A, break out groups and a workshop on opportunities for collaboration between diaspora and non-diaspora groups.
