Every Australian needs to meet Fadak. Fadak is a 25 year old Australian law graduate fighting for justice. Fifteen years ago she was a refugee, fleeing the invasion of Iraq. 

Now, Fadak is on a mission to tell her story as Australia has not yet heard it: in her own words: ‘I’ve been an Australian longer than I’ve been a refugee. I’m tired of having others tell my story. I want to reclaim my voice’.’

Together with Road to Refuge, and dozens of other community organisations, Fadak is seeking to embark on a new type of storytelling campaign to challenge the stories about her and other people like her. 

She wants every Australian to meet her and to put a human face ahead of the politics that has divided Australian communities for far too long.
