Statements from refugees on Manus Island to be read
The land on which we take these actions is land that was stolen from the Wurundjeri people who form part of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded, treaty was never made, genocide against First Nations peoples continues. It is not the place of any colonial government to control who comes into a country. We acknowledge First Nations people’s ongoing resistance at the front line of struggles for human rights. As human rights defenders we actively support the struggles of First Nations to resist this brutal system.
