Melbourne: Rally for Manus

1 December 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Image may contain: 1 person, crowd and outdoor

The people are mobilising for our right to demonstrate in the streets of Narrm/Melbourne. We have taken a determined stand against state violence in all forms -in the brutal oppression of refugees and asylum seekers on Manus Is, and in the attempt to stop us protesting this oppression on our own streets.

Join together on Friday evening to stand and march in solidarity with asylum seekers and refugees held political prisoner by the Australian government in Manus Is and Nauru. We will not stop disrupting business as usual until they are evacuated and safely resettled.

* Rally chairs Sam Castro and Liz Walsh
* Lewis Prai Wellip, West Papuan refugee held on Manus in the 1980s
* Shawfikul Islam, Rohingya refugee and NUW organiser
* Abdul Baig, a director of RISE: Refugees, Survivors and Ex-Detainees

*The Riff Raff Marching Band will also be joining the march
