Refugee Advocacy Network Campaign Planning Workshop


The Refugee Advocacy Network is hosting a Campaign Planning Workshop on Saturday 17 October.  We would like to invite you to come along to share your ideas on priorities and strategies for effective campaigning.  It will also be a good chance to meet others who are active in advocating for a better deal for asylum seekers and refugees.

The discussion will be led by Michelle Howard, an experienced facilitator.

Key discussion points will include:

Ø Current issues and key messages

Ø Making policy change  – key challenges, opportunities  and strategies.  Who do we need to influence?  Key strategies.

Ø Current challenges and opportunities for advocacy groups

Ø Working together to maximize our effect – priorities for the Network – what does the Network need to do to be most effective ?

When ?    Saturday 17 October, 11.15am arrival for 11.30am start.  Finish by 3.30pm – light lunch provided.

Where ?  ANMF offices, 540 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne  (approx. 50 metres north of Victorian Market on east side) – note if arriving late you will need to call 0409 252 673 to get into the building.

Who ?   All members of the Refugee Advocacy Network,  representatives of other groups active in advocating for change, and interested individuals.
