National ARAN Conference in Canberra: 20-21 May 2017

20 May 2017 - 21 May 2017

What is ARAN?

The Australian Refugee Action Network is a network of 27 Refugee Networks and large Refugee Groups across Australia.  RAR is a founding member of ARAN.  In fact the idea for an Australian Network of grassroots activist groups was born at the 2016 RAR National Conference.

The Inaugural ARAN Conference: 20-21 May 2017

The conference will be moderately priced ($50 waged, $20 unwaged) and is open to all who are interested in refugee activism and advocacy.

At the ARAN Conference we will:

  • Discuss ways to improve communication and co-ordination between grassroots action and advocacy groups in the refugee sector.
  • Discuss and establish campaign policy.
  • Share ideas and experience for mobilising and effective campaigning.
  • Form a workable system of national coordination.

Communication and coordination between our groups and organisations will maximise the impact of our various campaign actions and efforts.

ARAN has set up a national conference committee to draft the agenda, arrange speakers etc. The Canberra Refugee Action Committee will take care of logistics – venue, food, etc.

Bookings for the event will be open on 1 March 2017 at:  https://www.trybooking.com/OZGU

In the meantime, please hold the dates of 20 and 21 May 2017.

Plan to join us!

Details of the conference program  will be available soon.
