Online: Rohingya Crisis briefing

7 August 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Rohingya Crisis Response Campaign Briefing

Join Amnesty for an update from Amnesty International Crisis campaigner Diana Sayed on the situation in Myanmar and how you can get involved in the campaign.

The Myanmar security forces’ devastating campaign against the Rohingya population in northern Rakhine State has been brutal. The Rohingya people have been subject to  rape, murder, torture and forced starvation as well as the use of land mines, and targeted burning of villages. These ongoing violations and crimes against humanity have forced just over 700,000 Rohingya to flee into neighbouring Bangladesh since last August to escape.

We cannot stand by as this ethnic cleansing campaign by Myanmar’s government continues.

Who is this briefing for:

The situation in Myanmar is a growing Human Rights crisis and the largest human rights crisis in our region. We need to take the action to the streets and we need to make sure that the Australian government know that action needs to be taken. So we need you to help us increase the pressure.

If you are interested in learning more about what is happening for the Rohingya people. If you are keen to know how you can get involved and take action. If you want to make sure that the Rohingya people can live a life of peace. Then this briefing is for you.
