Sanctuary is an intimate and personal story of Khaled, an Iraqi-born Dutch-raised young man, struggling to hold onto his humanity as he searches, over 10 years, across continents, for peace and freedom. With the love and support of Leon, a Dutch refugee humanitarian volunteer he meets in Greece, Khaled manages to hang onto his sense of self and the dream of a free and peaceful future.
