Refugees on Manus are facing an emergency. All power, water and food have been cut off to the 600 asylum seekers and refugees still in the detention centre, as Peter Dutton extends a brutal siege. No provision has been made for their medical needs or medication.
All security guards have left, and those inside are increasingly scared for their safety. Locals have begun looting the centre to take furniture, fridges and equipment. More police have been brought to the island, and the refugees told the navy will take control of the detention complex. It is now urgent that the Australian government take responsibility for the refugees and the crisis they have created. Dutton and Turnbull must Bring Them Here immediately.
