Food, Culture & Dance !
Saturday 29th October at Uki Public School
3.00 pm – Cooking Demonstration – dishes from Iran and Afghanistan
Afternoon games for adults & children
6.00 pm Shared Banquet – Please bring a meal to share
7.00 pm Culture Slide Show & Discussion
7.30 pm Celebration of Music & Dance
Enjoy some of our guests’ favourite music; flamenco guitar; traditional dancing from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan & Iran. Join the dancers yourself.
Join us, have fun, help out
Please join us at our next Friendship weekend. As you can see from above, it will be a wonderful weekend with a variety of activities to appeal to different people.
Most of all, we want your company.
And if you have the time and energy, a bit of assistance:-
LUNCH Saturday. Please ph. Heather 66795603 if you can provide:-
- Big pan of hot soup
- Turkish Bread
- Sweet slice or cake
AFTERNOON & EVENING Saturday 3 pm to c. 8 pm. Please come along, bring family and friends, join in the games and share the banquet, taste some of the food prepared by our guests, contribute a plate of food, chai and cake will be for sale, enjoy the music and dance. General help needed:-
- Assist with toddlers;
- Assist with clean up at the end;
- Assist with & join in ball games etc;
- Organise a crafty name tag making table (please let us know if you can do this).
SUNDAY at TYALGUM RIDGE.
Fun & Adventure at Tyalgum Ridge Retreat
Sunday 30th October 11 am to 4 pm
11.00 am- 4.00 pm At this fabulous location, activities such as high ropes, archery, canoeing/kayaking, swimming. Beautiful scenery; farm animals.
The generosity of Tyalgum Ridge Retreat means only $10 each; $25 family, incl. lunch & professionally supervised activities.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience what is usually a high cost out-door education centre at very low cost – only $10 per head or $25 per family, including lunch.
