Join a RAR Group
Click on your state in the right hand side menu and find a group close to you. Contact the group directly via phone, email or Facebook to enquire about joining them.
They can let you know when they meet, what campaigns and events they have planned and add you to their email updates. See our ‘calendar’ for details on some of the events happening nationally.
We are always looking for new members. Here’s just some of what we do:
- Engage in Advocacy through letter writing, visits with MPs, social media campaigns.
- Fundraise.
- Organise materials for refugees to use when they come to Australia.
- Have various hosting events for refugees.
- Visit Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Detention Centres.
- Some groups do local school visits.
- Create local petitions relevant to their local area about things like The Welcome Zone.
- Raise awareness through things like local film nights and vigils.
- If there is no group near you, why not consider starting one?
Start a new RAR Group
Don’t see a group near you? Or want to have your Asylum Seeker or Refugee Support group listed on our website?
You need at least two people to meet, agree on a name for the group, set some objectives, agree on who will convene your group and who will be treasurer.
Feel free to get some ideas from this website. Fill out a Membership Form and send details to RAR Admin –
Here are our guidelines for starting a new group.
