Taree RAR re-emerges as Manning Rural Australians for Refugees
We had a full house at Wingsong’s Xmas4Refugees Fundraiser Concert on Saturday, 5 December as people gathered for an evening of food and song.
From Mark Isaccs we heard real-life stories from the refugee camps in Nauru and SE Asia. We discussed the situation of refugees and asylum seekers here in Australia.
- We heard how we could host, for short holidays, asylum seekers already in Australia through the wonderful “Home Among the Gum Trees” program.
Funds raised at the Concert will assist –
- UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency that cares for the world’s refugees
- Migrant Settlement Project at Manning Valley Neighbourhood Services
Come and join us as we plan a series of similarly styled concerts and events as we raise awareness and have conversations about refugees while we socialise.
The beautiful Manning Valley
